My work should be like a poem set to music by a painter... a sort of secret language, formed from an alphabet of enchantment... -Joan Miro With primal force and infinite delicacy, Joan Miro (1893-1983) created a visual world that fused passion, sexuality, philosophy and flight of fancy into an ecstatic carnival of symbols: stars, eyes, women, birds and objects from the Catalonian landscape and folklore of his native country, Spain.

Created with exclusive access to the Mire Museum in Barcelona, This retrospective of Miro's 65-year career brings fascinating insight to his poetic surrealism.
